The duo, one of them a pathologist and the other a Member of Parliament have  appeared before the Buganda Road Court.

Kinkinzi West MP Chris Baryomunsi and Mulago hospital pathologist Sylvester Onzivua are charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, with Dr Onzivua charged on an additional count of abuse of office.

The charges are in connection to the death of Butalejah MP Cerinah Nebanda in December last year.

The duo was part of the team of doctors that attended the controversial examination to establish the cause of Nebanda’s death.

They appeared before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Sylvia Nabaggala who adjourned the case till March 12th for mention.

This is after prosecution told court that investigations into the matter were still going on.

It is alleged that on December 15 at Mulago Hospital mortuary, Onzivua and Baryomunsi and others conspired and unlawfully obtained body samples of the late Nebanda and attempted to take them to South Africa without permission.

The State contends that around the same date at Mulago Hospital, Dr Onzivua, in an arbitrary act, obtained body samples of the deceased MP and attempted to take them to South Africa without clearance.
