This after police arrested an FDC activist in Jinja over the weekend during a standoff between police and the former FDC president Dr Kiiza Besigye after he was blocked from being hosted on a live radio talk show.

Addressing a press conference at Parliament this afternoon, the MPs including Rujumbura County’s Fred Turyamuheza, Francis Mwijukye of Buhweju County and Roland Kaginda of Rukungiri Municipality accused the police of abusing the police uniform in partisan politics.

The lawmakers have vowed to take on the police and human rights organs within the country for sleeping on the job while Democratic space in the country is shrinking.
