Government has asked the World Bank to lift the ban on funding to Uganda.
In September this year, the World Bank suspended all new lending to Uganda as it reviews the progress of the projects worth about Shs8 trillion.
The World Bank said it would withhold all future funding until the issues currently plaguing undergoing projects were rectified.
Among the outstanding performance issues the bank raised were delays in project execution, weaknesses in safeguards monitoring and enforcement and poor absorption of the funds.
Now the minister of Finance Matia Kasaijja says the World Bank should lift the ban to enable the country get funding for the construction of the Tororo- Mbale road which is going to transport heavy equipment to be used in oil exploration.
