KCCA Unveils Sunday Market Day

Today Kampala Capital city Authority has unveiled Lumum Street as a Sunday market with car carriage being blocked from 5am to 5pm to allow trading.

The Director Gender, community service and production Harriet Mudondo says the move is aimed to address the problem of street vending and few gazzerted working places.

However Mudondo says food items like cooked food, raw food, fish meat alcohol are not to be allowed in this market.

Over 1000vendors are expected to occupy the area and each will have to pay 10000shs every Sunday.

Public and vendors have welcomed the idea saying vendor will now have an opportunity to sell their goods without interferences.
