Kyambogo University students to start buying their own food university decides against cooking for them

Over 8,500 students of Kyambogo University will start buying their own food starting next year after the university deciding to withdraw from cooking food for students.

According to the vice chancellor of the university prof Elly Katugunka, is going to cease providing meals for the students residing in halls of residence due to heavy costs encountered in purchasing, cooking and serving food to the students.

Prof Katunguka said that they are going to outsources catering services to private restaurants were students will buy food from any service provider of their choice.

He notes that the university will provide government sponsored students with money at the beginning of semester to enable them buy food at their own convenience.
