Lukwago re-elected Kampala Lord mayor

The incumbent Kampala lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who has been standing on the FDC ticket has been re-elected to lead the city for the next five years.

The race attracted 11 candidates including Lukwago, Musicians Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleon and Daniel Kazibwe aka Ragga Dee of the NRM and NUPs Nabila Nagayi among others.

Lukwago has won the race after garnering 194,592 votes beating NUPs Nabila who got 60,082 votes out of the 295,592 valid votes cast.

NRMs Ragga Dee has trailed in the third position after gathering 23,388 votes while independent Jose Chameleon is in the fourth position with 12,212 votes.

This was the second time Ragga Dee was seeking the Lord Mayoral seat having finished second after Lukwago in 2016.
