The proprietors of the newly constructed multibillion abattoirs along Hoima road have decried daily power blackout that affect their rate of production.
The president early this year commissioned this factory managed by Egypt –Uganda food Security Company with capacity to slaughter 500 cows on daily basis.
According to Hisham Ghaffar the marketing manager, the company expected constant power supply but this has remained a challenge despite presidential pledge.
He said that the factory experience power outage on daily basis and this affect their cold-rooms and entire value chain.
He is now calling for urgent government intervention if they are to remain in business.
Hisham made the revelation during the ongoing Exporters annual conference organized by Uganda export promotions board.
