The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Maj Gen Kahinda Otafire and his Lands counterpart Betty Amongi have this afternoon failed to show good cause for amending the constitution.

The duo had for the second time appeared before the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs to defend their pursuit for constitutional amendments to pave way for government to modify provisions on compulsory land acquisition.

However, just like on their first appearance a week ago, they did not make any headway.
Otafire has now asked for two weeks so as to consult with cabinet on the way forward to ensure a more acceptable position is attained.

Committee chairperson Jacob Oboth has tasked the ministers to do better and ensure that justice for all is observed wherever there is an infrastructural undertaking.

Now on a lighter note, minister Otafire had a tough time trying to find the right way to address his shadow counterpart Medard Lubega Segona.
