The Ministry of health has downplayed fears that mosquito nets could cause health effects on Ugandan people.
This comes as the government plans to distribute 24Million nets in a mass campaign aimed at reducing the malaria burden.
The exercise kicks off on 9th December till 24th April 2017.
However there are continued fears amongst the public that these nets contain chemicals which lead to miscarriages.
Now health Minster Dr. Ruth Achieng says mosquito nets are fully tested and certified on both international standards and locally by the national drug authority and national bureau of standards.
She denies that there chemicals saying of the 6.5 M nets received already in the country all these have been tested as they await the extra ones.
She says the national reduction strategy is 3% by 2020 and part of the steps to achieve this is by distributing tested mosquito nets urging the public to embrace them when distributed.
