Mps snub Museveni meeting over Article 102 b

A section of MPs opposed to the amendment of Article 102 b of the Constitution have declined to meet president Museveni.

The interface by the Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs is scheduled for this afternoon, to seek the president’s take on the bill presented by Igara West MpRaphael Magyezi.

Meanwhile some of the Committee members including Masaka Municipality MP Mathias Mpuuga and Messed Segona are among those who declined to meet Museveni.

The lawmakers, enjoined by other opponents of the Bill like Lwemiyaga County MP Theodore Sekikubo contend that the meeting with president Museveni is a ritual.

They have also challenged the manner in which the Committee is being hosted by a witness.
