President Yoweri Museveni is today set to open the National Resistance Movement (NRM) national conference at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
The two-day conference will see delegates elect the party’s national leaders and also endorse President Museveni’s Sole Candidature.
Meanwhile President Museveni has castigated party members for prioritizing money in everything they do for the NRM.
The president says NRM cadres should learn to sacrifice for the party and not expect payment for every assignment.
He says sacrifice and selfless work is the cornerstone of a strong party.
Hundreds of NRM members refused to attend the special interest groups meeting on Friday and Namboole stadium before receiving their allowances.

The NRM party chairman Yoweri Museveni has cautioned the police and army against beating up and ill handling of civilians.
This follows recent incidents where officers of these security agencies have been seen manhandling civilians.
Addressing NRM National Executive Committee delegates at state house Entebbe, President Museveni said this was wrong and would not be tolerated.
He also promised to meet commanders of the two institutions to further discuss this matter.

In another development, the National Resistance Movement is considering adopting lining up during elections.
This follows the recent chaos and irregularities that marred the just concluded party primaries.
Addressing the party’s NEC members, party chairman President Yoweri Museveni said changing from the college system to the current adult suffrage has not helped solve the problems as expected.
He says the NRM leadership is now exploring the possibility of having election of party’s flag bearers by lining up.
Meanwhile he has also asked members to desist from branding some of the party members as “Pro Mbabazi “ noting that anyone interested to join the former premier is free to do so
