The police have blocked former Premier Amama Mbabazi’s planned processions and rallies.

The presidential hopeful had planned to hold a rally in Kampala immediately after his nomination on 3rd November.
However, in a statement issued this afternoon, the police chief Gen. Kale Kayihura says Mbabazi’s request to Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Jennifer Musisi to hold a procession on the city streets cannot be granted.
Gen.Kayihura says these activities fall under the Public Order Management Act which requires the convener to notify the IGP which Mbabazi has not done.
He adds that the same streets have been booked by the National Resistance Movement to carry out the same activities and police cannot simultaneously monitor both activities.
