The Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura has shuffled his officers, appointing AIGP Abaas Byakagaba the new Director Human Resource Development.

The position fell vacant following the murder of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Andrew Felix Kaweesi in March this year.

Byakagaba has been the Commandant Senior Staff College in Bwebajja.

Gen.Kayihura has also appointed AIGP Haruna Isabirye who has been in charge of the Anti-Stock Theft Unit as director welfare and production, replacing Elizabeth Muwanga who retired recently.

Among other transfers is Moses Kafeero who has now been appointed Commandant Senior Staff College in Bwebajja.

AIGP Andrew Sorowen, who has been in charge of Special Duties, has been appointed the police sports liason officer with the ministry of education and sports.

Fenny Kyomukama from Field Force Unit has been appointed Commander Anti stock theft unit, while Emmanuel Mukama from Somalia has been transferred to VIP Unit.

The transfers according to the IGP take immediate effect.
