The youth are represented by 5 MPs, one for each of the regions and a national female MP.

The election for the national female MP was concluded recently with NRMs Phiona Nyamutoro defeating 11 other candidates.

According to the electoral commission, about 7000 youth are expected to take part in this election.

The regional conference for the election for central MP will be held at the national teachers college in Mubende municipality.

For Northern Uganda, the youth delegates will convene at Pece stadium in Gulu city while for Western at Ntare School in Mbarara while for the Eastern region, the delegates will meet in Mbale city.

According to the commission deputy spokesperson Paul Bukenya, no person shall be allowed to vote if he or she is not a member of the respective college.
