The Constitutional Court is today expected to deliver its ruling on whether or not to temporarily release the 9 suspects said to have murdered several Muslim clerics across the country.
Justice Eldad Mwangushya set the date after the suspects led by Sheikh Yunus Kamoga petitioned Court seeking bail pending hearing and final determination of a petition they filed challenging their arrest and subsequent detention.
The suspects also accused the Director of Public Prosecutions Mike Chibita of defying a court order issued by International Crimes Division Judge Ezekiel Muhanguzi to avail them with the would be evidence in order to prepare their defence.
They argue that they see no reason as to why they should continue to be in prison yet the state does not have evidence to sustain charges of murder, terrorism and crimes against humanity that were preferred against them.
