This follows concerns raised by the union’s concerns that a number of member SACCOs have failed to pay back the money given to them.

Speaking at the WALIMU SACCOs Union annual General meeting in Kiwatule, Mulindwa maintained that the money government gave the SACCOs was not relief money but rather revolving funds that should be utilized in such a way that many more benefit.

Meanwhile, the WALIMU SACCO Unions board chairperson Stephen Nabende revealed that they are coming up with a new strategy to recover funds from members that have failed to comply.

The WALIMU SACCOs Union is a secondary cooperative society and an umbrella organization for all primary teachers Saccos in Uganda with a membership of over 265 primary teachers SACCOs and serving over 17,000 teachers.
