Reluctance of people to go for regular medical checkups to know their health status has been cited as the major cause of death in Uganda.
Dr. Ivan Kisuule, the chairperson for publicity and mobilization at the Uganda Medical Association laments that most people wait to fall sick before they go to hospital which he says is a dangerous practice.
According to Dr.Kisuule, regular medical check-ups can diagnose potentially serious ailments before they become severe medical conditions.
He thus urges members of the public to always go for tests especially for non- communicable diseases such as Cancer and Hepatitis B among others if the country is to have a healthy workforce.
