Prosecution led by Jonathan Ivan Naduki, told court that Batamburira, was arrested after the group’s vice chairperson Lillian Nakuza reported the matter to Lyantonde police station.

Batamburira however, denied the charges, asking for bail instead on grounds that it is his constitutional right.

However Naduki, objected the bail application saying that cases of mismanagement of funds are common in Lyantonde and have greatly affected development and service delivery in the district.

The presiding magistrate Patrick Bamuhiga agreed with the state prosecutor and sent Batamburira to Kabula Farm Prison and adjourned the case to 1st July, 2015 when he will re-appear in court.

The youth in Lyantonde district were reportedly given over Shs178 million to carry out development projects under their different groupings.
