As Uganda joins the world to cerebrate international menstrual hyphens day, schools have been asked to separate toilet facilitates for students and teachers of help them enjoy privacy.

According to the current Uganda population 51% of the populations are women and girls.

Speaking during the signing of the menstrual Hygiene management charter 2015 at parliament, the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaaga said that many girls fear to visit these toilets during their menstrual periods because they double as teacher’s facility.

She explained that the ministry of the education has a mandate to enhance supply of sanitary pads to all schools especially in rural areas where girls drop out of schools due to lack of such necessities.

We spoke to some of the school girls about their experience.
