The hearing of aggravated robbery case against a man who was arrested on his wedding day has kicked off.

Samuel Mutaka who was a shoe trader at Kagujje Plaza at Ring Road in Kampala is charged with two offences of aggravated robbery and kidnap.

Mutaka was arrested on the day of his wedding by detectives who stormed SDA church in Najjanankumbi a city suburb.

The first prosecution witness Detective Inspector, Paul Muhenda, who was then attached to Najjera Police post in Wakiso district led the team that arrested Mutaka.

In his testimony, Detective Muhenda told the trial judge Wilson Masalu Musene that he never gave Mutaka a chance to make his vows to his bride because he had ignored police summons.

Muhenda said he arrested the accused, following a complaint from the owner of a car, Toyota Noaha one Patrick Kakwezi, who had notified police that someone hired his car for self-drive and used it in a robbery.

Justice Musene adjourned the matter to October 14, for further hearing.

Mutaka his alleged to have robbed over 15million shillings from a one Nicholas Tumusiime a mobile money dealer and kidnaped his wife on14, 2013.
