President Yoweri Museveni is in New York for the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to state House, the president yesterday met a group of bankers and discussed how the private sector could play a significant role in delivering the infrastructure that is necessary to support strong economic growth in Africa.

He met with Africa 50 CEO Mr. Alain Ebobisse and Ms. Carole Wamuyu Wainanina the chief Operating Officer at Park Hyatt Hotel in New York.

Africa 50 is an investment Bank for infrastructure in Africa that focuses on high impact national and regional projects in energy, transport and water sectors.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kutesa and Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, H.E Ambassador Adonia Ayebare attended the meeting.
