Former FDC presidential Candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye has  put the Nakawa Magistrates court on notice that he will never report back for mention of the treason case  against him beyond the next adjournment date of 25th/January 2016.

This after state Prosecutor Carol Apiya informed   the presiding magistrate Noah Ssajjabi that investigations into Besigye’s treason are still on-going and that the DPP needs more time within which to conclude its work.

This angered Besigye who attacked the DPP Mike Chibita for failing to find evidence against him for the last six months to enable his case be sent to the High court for trial.

Besigye is accused of having sworn -in himself as president of Uganda maintaining that he won the February presidential polls.

According to the DPP, this is against the legally prescribed processes through which one can ascend himself into the office of the president.

Besigye was arrested on May/ 13th this year and charged in Moroto court before he was airlifted to Kampala to be freshly charged at Nakawa court. He then proceeded to the High court to appear before the criminal registrar Mary Khainza for extension of his bail.
