The meeting slated for 3:00pm today is largely meant to forge a way forward on how to stop the ongoing strike by judicial officers that threatens to cause a constitutional crisis.

The Uganda Judicial Officers’ Association (UJOA) president Godfrey Kaweesa has told Daily Monitor that they are open to talks with government and that the strike that enters day two today can only be called off if an clear offer is put on the table.

“The JSC has scheduled a very important meeting with UJOA executive today at 3:00pm. UJOA’s petition is that the resolution holds and the status quo is maintained until a firm and unequivocal offer is put on the table.

The Judicial officers laid down their tools of Friday last week protesting poor remuneration and other welfare related issues that government has failed to address.
