The officials who include the former Permanent Secretary Jimmy Lwamafa, Principal Accountant Christopher Obey and Commissioner Compensation Department were granted bail yesterday by the Court of Appeal.

However, they still have pending charges before the Anti-corruption court for which they have never applied to be released on bail.

They are alleged to have connived with city lawyer Bob Kasango to defraud government of another 15 billion shillings of pensioners’ money.

Lwamafa, Obey and Kunsa were this morning produced before Anti-corruption court Deputy Registrar Susan Kanyange who adjourned the matter to the said   date due to the absence of Prosecutors who are striking over low pay.

in November last year they were convicted and sentenced to 7, 10, and 5years respectively for the irregular budgeting of 88bn shs as NSSF  contribution for public servants well knowing that these do not contribute to the Fund.
