Buganda Road court grade one magistrate Joan Aciro has cleared the  former UPC Party President Olara Otunnu  of charges of defaming President Yoweri Kagutta Museveni due to want of prosecution.

Last week court compelled the prosecution  to close it’s case  saying  ever since the case up in court in August 2013,  no any other witness has ever  been summoned to testify.

It’s against this background that magistrate Aciro  ruled that prosecution has failed to establish a case againat Ottunu to warrant him defend himself and hence set him free.

Prosecution had Stated  that on the  16th/ January 2013 during  one of his UPC party weekly press conference at Uganda House in Kampala, Otunu attacked president Museveni’s regime referring to it as one full of political assassinations, words that were calculated to defame the person of  president Museveni.
