The police spokesman for Kigezi region Elly Matte has identified the accused person as Victor Twinamatsiko.

He is said to have disappeared on October 30 and was arrested on Nov 8 from Muko Sub County in the neighboring district of Rubanda by the police after tracking the mobile phone he was using.

It was established that the phone numbers he was using were located in Muko Sub County instead of Kampala and
Mukono where he claimed he was being held in a safe house.

Upon arrest Twinamatsiko confessed to having faked his kidnap because he wanted the money to solve a traffic offence he committed in 2012 when he knocked dead a one Judith Tukamuhabwa while riding a motorcycle.
