The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has urged government to expeditiously institute the minimum wage.
While launching the strategic plan for the Uganda parliamentary Forum on Media at The Imperial Royale hotel in Kampala, Hon. Kadaga said lack of a minimum wage has reduced Ugandan workers to slaves.
Meanwhile, the second Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Moses Ali has reiterated government support in promoting media freedom.
However, he has called on Journalists to remain objective in their reporting.
In a separate development, Rt. Hon. Kadaga expressed disappointment over government officials who fail to ratify international instruments.
Kadaga noted that many of the ministers who attend international convections just keep the instruments in their lockers when they return.
Kadaga who was recently attending the African Union Summit said Uganda had not yet signed many of union instruments and yet she was a profound member.
