The chairman of the Civil Society Coalition on Transport in Uganda, Patrick Kayemba says the current system is still deficient to handle the growing transport needs in the country.

Kayemba adds that government should be checked in regard to expenditure on roads, given that the sector takes up the lion’s share in the annual budget.

The Civil Society Coalition on Transport in Uganda is a loose coalition of 25 member organisations, with a vision to empower citizens to participate in governance of the transport industry.
