It has been quite a good start for the Uganda Cranes scoring two goals in the first half courtesy of Geoffrey Massa.

The Uganda –Guinea match which has attracted hundreds of soccer fans was played under floodlights at Namboole stadium.

The two teams faced off in one of the group E Africa Cup of Nations qualifier matches.

Cranes Coach Micho’s starting lineup included Dennis Onyango, Denis Iguma, Godfrey Walusimbi, Savio Kabugo, and Andrew Mwesigwa.

The others were Baba Kizito, Moses Oloya, Aucho Khalid, Geoffrey Massa, Tonny Mawejje and Kizito Luwagga.

‪While the substitutes were  Robert Odongkara, Isaac Isinde, Farouk Miya, Brian Majwega, Robert Ssentongo, Brian Umony, and Yunus Sentamu.

The game that was played under floodlights was briefly interrupted by a power blackout, sending soccer fans into panic.

Earlier, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations confirmed that some fans had been injured in a stampede at the Southern gate bu the situation was quickly brought back to normal.
