The foreign affairs ministry has confirmed receipt of an official communication, waving Visa requirements for spectators of the above events.

According to Margaret Kafeero, the foreign affairs ministry’s Public diplomacy officer, foreign citizens will enter and leave the Russian Federation with a personalized spectator card or “Fan-ID” attached, in hard or soft copies and a valid travel document without the Russian Visa.

She says the period of the visa-free entry for the spectators of the FIFA confederations Cup 2017 is from June 12, 2017.

While the period of the visa-free entry for the spectators of the FIFA Football World Cup 2018 will be communicated in due course.

The Embassy of the Russian Federation is thus calling for close cooperation from all air carriers operating in Uganda as well as border and immigration control authorities.
