Parliament’s committee on Presidential Affairs will have a report on the Karamoja relief items probe ready in three weeks. This is according to committee chairperson and Adjumani MP, Jessica Ababiku.

The committee has been interfacing with different witnesses and senior government officials including ministers over allegations of the mismanagement of relief items meant for the vulnerable people in Karamoja sub-region.

Ababiku tells Daily Monitor that so far, the committee has covered 60 percent of investigations and is now preparing to go to the field to cross-check the information that was given by the people interviewed.

The probe covers allegations on the mismanagement of iron sheets, that the Shs39 billion of the supplementary budget was abused, misuse of food meant for school children, and the issue of goats- verify the number and quality of goats expected to be delivered to Karamoja sub-region vis-a-vis the actual and cost implications
