admin | July 15, 2015

The Uganda Electricity Regulatory Authority has revised electricity tariffs up wards.

Under the revised tariffs, domestic consumers will be charged an extra 13 shillings from the original 558shillings per unit; commercial consumers will fork out an additional 12 shillings up from 492 shillings, while large industries will be charged an extra 8.2 shillings from the previous 320 shillings.

According to the Uganda Electricity Regulatory Authority spokesperson Julius Wandera, the increment is a reflection of the unstable economy especially due to the depreciating shillings.
