Buganda Kingdom has spoken out about the Grasshopper, “Nsenene” Vendor who has gone viral for selling the delicacy abound a Dubai bound Uganda Airlines Plane.

The man who has been identified as Paul Mubiru has since apologized for the act saying he was recording the video for comedy purposes on TikTok and not transactional gains.

In the viral video, that has sparked outrage among Ugandans, Mubiru could be heard saying the Nsenene are for shs 10,000.

The Buganda kingdom premier, Charles Peter Mayiga has taken to social media to defend Mubiru saying all airlines sell lots of things in-flight.

He adds Mubiru could be skilled at salesmanship adding that those who bought the grasshoppers appreciate their taste.

Mayiga further defends Mubiru’s act saying he has witnessed passengers doing forex exchange transactions on board many times.

According to Mayiga, it is common to see passengers carry their own food onto the plane which is cleared by the ground crew adding that travelers on buses also always vend food and other items.

He has now challenged the national carrier to clearly state if they disapprove of the act.

The Airlines management issued a statement on Sunday saying they are considering adding the Nsenene on their menu as a strategy to boost tourism marketing.
