Car Robberies Worry Busia Authorities

admin | June 29, 2015

Authorities in Busia are worried about a new trend of selling stolen vehicles via Busia boarder.

The latest police cross boarder crime report indicates that most of the vehicles stolen in Ugandan are sold to neighboring countries in DR Congo, and those stolen from Kenya are sold in Uganda.

According to the Busia Resident District Commissioner, Hussein Kato Mitanda, the trend seems to be changing, with the car robbers now preferring Kenya, due to high security on Uganda-Congo boarder.

He explained that in a period of one month, two cars were intercepted in Kenya, while some are not trucked.
