President Paul Kagame

Rwandan president Paul Kagame is urging governments in the Common Wealth countries to increase funding to local governments for improved service delivery.

Referring to Rwanda as a case study, Kagame said local governments are the engines of effective service delivery to the people hence the need for more funding.

The president made the call while addressing delegates attending the Commonwealth Local Government conference at the Speke Resort Munyonyo.

The summit that ends tomorrow is running under the theme, “Developmental local government, putting local Government at the heart of Development”
