Gov’t urged to find solution to Muslim fears

David Kugonza | August 29, 2017

By Ritah Kemigisa:

The Opposition Democratic Party has called upon government to ensure harmony is restored back among Muslims in the country and also assure them that they are not being persecuted.

Addressing journalists at the party Headquarters, the party president Norbert Mao said currently the Muslims are living in tension with the fear that they are being persecuted instead of being prosecuted.

According to Mao the recently concluded murder trial of the 14 Muslim clerics has made the Muslims to feel like they are being persecuted and that they are liable to abrupt arrests something that is making them restless.

Mao says government needs to come out with a solution that will make both Muslims and the general population to feel they are protected.
