Increased accountability and transparency within the accounting profession can help reduce corruption in the country.

The Speaker of parliament is appealed to accountants to do their work in a transparent manner and have good financial records to not only promote their profession but also reduces on government losses.

The speaker also condemns the increasing number of masqueraders that have tarnished the name of the accounting profession.

Kadaga was speaking at the opening the 2013 small and medium forum organized by professional accountants to support small and medium enterprises.

At the the same event, the president of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Uganda Naru Thakkar advised small and medium enterprise owners to always use professional accountants in their business as a way of ensuring efficiency and easy detection of possible losses and seek appropriate advice.
