President Yoweri Museveni was yesterday speaking during a traditional marriage ceremony between MPs Jimmy Akena and Betty Amongi at Minakulu in Oyam district.

He said government needs the people’s support in addressing national challenges.

He asked Ugandans to support government efforts in addressing major challenges power generation, poor road network and other infrastructure which are a basis for any country’s economic transformation.

The President said government is also cautious about creating new districts owing to the heavy budget that comes along with their infrastructural structural development.

The President was responding to local leaders’ demand for a government hospital in Oyam district.

He said when government created Oyam district this created an infrastructural gap including lack of a hospital.

In his message to the couple, President Museveni emphasized the importance of marriage as a foundation of society, calling on the couple to always value family principles as widely known.
