The NRM parliamentary caucus has been summoned by the party chairman to State House Entebbe today.

Pending legislation, the Mbabazi presidential bid and the fate of the rebel MPs are expected to feature on the agenda.

It is highly expected that the expelled MPs will discuss with the president the possibility of their return to the party.

The move by the president to mend fences is however not seen by political analysts as meant to foster political cohesion but rather political survival

Mwambusya Ndebesa, a political scientist at Makerere University says the game plan is an attempt to bring the rebel MPs back to the fold and prevent them from joining the Mbabazi camp.
