The Ministry of Health intends to construct houses for nurses and midwives to reduce on the cost of transport.

Currently many nurses stay far from their respective hospitals which makes it costly for Ministry of Health to facilitate their transport to and from the health centers.

According to the ministry Permanent Secretary, Doctor Asuman Lukwago, the ministry is working on comprehensive plans that will be followed in improving the housing sector for all health centers in Uganda.

He explained that many nurses and other health workers can’t respond to emergencies since some of them leave far from their place of work places.
