Police has reiterated calls for public vigilance at all times to guard against acts of terror.
Today is exactly seven years since the infamous July 11th 2010 terror attacks by the Al-shabab militant group.
According to Asan Kasingye the police spokesperson, the attacks were a wakeup call to the country to be on alert at all times. He says it has also been a learning experience for security agencies on how to thwart terror attacks.
He however said that despite a lull in acts of terrorism in Uganda, the public should remain alert and not take their safety for granted.
The trial of these 13 Ugandan, Kenyan and Tanzanian suspects started in March 2015.
In May 2016 High Court Judge Alfonse Owiny-Dollo convicted eight people and acquitted five in connection to the July 11, 2010 Kampala bombings.
