The Uganda Cranes have moved one place up in the latest FIFA rankings. The Cranes were ranked 90th in the previous rankings released in August and are now 89th.

The rise is largely due to the two wins registered against Tanzania in the 2023 Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifiers.

They beat Tanzania 1-0 away and 3-0 at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende, hence qualifying for the African Nation’s Championships to be held in Algeria in January next year.

Uganda is now ranked 18th in Africa and remains the best ranked in CECAFA region followed by Kenya who are at 101.

Brazil remains the best in the world followed by Belgium, Argentina sits third, France fourth, and England in the 5th position to complete the top five.
