URA starts collecting taxes for KCCA

David Kugonza | August 30, 2017

By Damali Mukhaye:

Uganda revenue authority has taken over collecting taxes on behalf of Kampala capital city authority following a directive from the government.

Addressing journalists at city hall, the director supervisor training and public awareness Daniel Nuwabiine says that government wants to know how much money KCCA has been collecting from the city after allegations of fraud by some officials in the authority.

He notes that URA has already started collecting all the local revenue that have been previously deposited on the accounts of the authority and all the people in Kampala should comply to this effect.

He thus notes that all the pay slips shall bear the URA logo which has not been the case.
