Any accounting officer whose payroll bears discrepancies will be held liable.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Keith Muhakanizi says accounting officers whose dockets do not remit salaries or have payroll issues should be blamed.
Appearing before Parliament’s Public Service and Local Government committee today, Muhakanizi says the issue of salary delays should not be happening since all departments have streamlined payrolls under the computerized system.
He says the centralized system of payment has created a lot of issues, which government will address soon.
