The new Forum for Democratic Change president is to officially take oath on Thursday.

Patrick Amuriat the former Member of Parliament for Kumi district beat incumbent Maj General Mugisha Muntu with over 57% against 41% of the total votes cast.

Although he had taken oath immediately after the elections on Saturday morning, Harold Kaija, the FDC Deputy Secretary General tells KFM that the swearing in was illegal since it was not on a working day and it was not done by a commissioner of oaths.

The oath will now be administered by renowned lawyer Ladislus Rwakafuzi at the party headquarters in Najanankumbi.
