Capt Babu Takes A Swipes At CAA
Veteran politician Captain Francis Babu has accused the Civil Aviation Authority of Running down Uganda’s aviation industry.
Speaking at the 4th graduation ceremony of the Uganda Aviation School, Capt Babu has accused the authority’s failure to protect Ugandan passengers from high ticket taxes.
He cites Entebbe –Nairobi route where a ticket costs $400 due to exorbitant taxes.
He adds that the current works at the airport under the master expansion plan is sloppy and poorly designed, a claim the authority has often denied.
Capt Babu also asked government not to influence the process of reviving the national carriers through nepotism and corruption.
Over 30 students who have graduated at the Uganda Aviation School include cabin crew and flight attendants.
This comes at a time the country is in the process of reviving the defunct Uganda Airlines.
