President Yoweri Museveni has appointed former Education minister, Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire as the new chancellor of Uganda Management Institute.
In a statement issued this afternoon, Bitamazire will serve in the position for 4 years.
Also re-appointed is Prof. Peter Mugyenyi as Chancellor of Mbarara University of Science and Technology for four more years.
Bitamazire, who replaces Florence Mugasha, served as Education minister from 1979 until 1980 and from 2001 to 2011.
She was also Mpigi Woman MP from 2001 until 2011.
