Police in Kampala has arrested a renowned city lawyer Robert Mukasa Lugalambi for allegedly defrauding residents of Buliisa district.
Police reports show that about 600 families from the oil-rich Wanga area of Buliisa through Mukasa Lugalambi and company advocates won a case against government in 2007 when Gen David Ssejusa the then coordinator of Intelligence Services tried to evict them from their land illegally.
However, after receiving the court award of Sh300 million, Lugalambi reportedly vanished.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima says following numerous complaints from the affected residents, the suspect has been arrested and is currently held at the Central Police Station for further investigation.
