David Kugonza | November 1, 2016

The two-day old conjoined twins who were born at Nagalama hospital have died at Mulago hospital where they were admitted yesterday.

The hospital spokesperson Enock Kusaasira says the female babies were admitted in critical condition.

The babies were born to 28 -year-old Sarah Aliyiza and Ziyadi Mugoya, residents of Nampirika B in Iganga district.

According to the father his twins breathed their last night at around 8pm.

The twins were joined at the abdomen and doctors were still examining the body parts they were sharing and how best they could separate them to save their lives.

Medical experts explain that cases of Siamese twins are a result of failure by identical twins to separate.
