The ministry of energy has confirmed that the construction of the five prioritized oil roads is to commence by December 2017.
While updating parliament on the state of oil roads yesterday, the minister for energy Irene Muloni said the tendering process by UNRA for design and construction of the oil roads is on-going with a target to award contracts by end of September 2Ol7.
He said that cabinet has already approved funding amounting to over USD 530 million to be availed over two financial years and their feasibility studies have been completed.
She however said this schedule is achievable if all the funds are availed.
